In recent months, it would seem that Lady Gaga was returning to down-home Americana roots. Outfitted with an acoustic guitar, denim cut-offs, and a bubblegum pink cowboy hat, the shape-shifting pop star once known to favor meat dresses was looking for something a bit more homespun. But stepping out of Le Bristol Hotel today in Paris, the Joanne singer appeared like any other coquette traipsing about the Left Bank. Buttoned up into a crisp and polished monochromatic ensemble of a tailored blazer, flirty pleated miniskirt, and a white oxford blouse (replete with a black ribbon tie, no less), Gaga culled a look full of Gallic schoolgirl charm.
Trading in that aforementioned 10-gallon hat, the singer instead clutched a prim pink Cambridge Satchel Company bag that read “JOANNE.” Matching her flirty combo of pink pumps and white ankle-biter socks, the singer slipped on a pair of white cat-eye sunglasses for a finishing touch. Today’s take on a tuxedo was certainly far from Gaga's pared-down folksy look, but it was also a reminder that no American woman can really resist the allure of French girl style.
