Created in 2008, The Cambridge Satchel Company is the result of a four-handed collaboration between two women: Julie Deane and her mother Freda Thomas . While trying to find a way to pay for her two children 's school fees, Julie Deane came up with the idea of ​​creating a line of schoolbooks for children, inspired by Harry Potter ' s books . Models of bags that could have been worn by Hogwarts students : solid, handmade and a bit retro.
